Brenden was “lovable, happy young man”

THE family and friends of Brenden William Shields, a young man who passed away suddenly at Poyntzpass Residential Home on October 28, are still coming to terms with the tragedy.
Brenden, who had just turned 34 when he passed away, was the only child of Colleen and Billy Shields.
He was born on October 12, 1988, and resided in Dromore before moving to Iveagh Drive, Banbridge, in 2002.
Brenden spent his weekdays in Poyntzpass residential Home where he loved the staff and his peers, while Friday to Monday was spent with his Mum in Iveagh Drive, Banbridge, making many happy memories.
He was a lovable, happy young man, always smiling and laughing. A particular love of Brenden’s was the sunshine which he enjoyed relaxing in.
Another love of Brenden’s was when he was heading away on a trip with the Poyntzpass Residential Home on the bus – those days were so special to Brenden.
He was known for his great appetite and enjoyed anything that was given to him. He was also very appreciative of all.
Brenden is survived by his Mummy and Daddy who will miss him dearly.
His funeral took place on Wednesday, November 2, in William Bell & Co Funeral Home, followed by committal in Banbridge New Cemetery.
Rev Andrew Gibson officiated at the funeral home and graveside. Family flowers were placed on the grave.
